Time to change the game.

About 15 years ago, Killer Karla proactively participated in kidnapping, drugging, raping, humiliating and murdering, her own younger sister Tammy, Ms. Leslie Mahaffy, and Ms. Kristen French. There is yet another girl known to have not survived her encounter at the hands of Killer Karla or Paul Bernardo, Ms. Terri Anderson. Remember at this much, these victims, after all the suffering inflicted by Killer Karla were also found dismembered and dumped. Furthermore, there is also evidence of her assistance in planning and carrying out many of the rape assault activities of Paul Bernardo, the Scarborough rapist. Killer Karla is a real doll! However, as I am consistently reminded in running discussions by UrbainDruid, she has served her sentence and I should move on, (“don’t hate the player, hate the game”).

About 12 years ago, Karl Toft sexually assaulted as many as boys as he could get his hands on. A little research reveals his gruesome history; “numerous sexual offenses perpetrated against male children aged 12 to 17 years of age, over an 18-20 year period”! For what he did, he has been titled, “Canada’s worst pedophile”! However, he has served his mandatory 2/3 sentence and has been released! The grand-daddy of pedophiles has served his sentence and we should move on…right?

Pappy Poker participated in whatever rehab program we, as a society has asked for, and has opened his post penitentiary life to surveillance and restrictions as has been put to him. Killer Karla refused any rehab program and has been suing to lift the similar post penitentiary restrictions, (recently lifted by the courts – again, don’t hate the player, hate the game, right?)!

So then, taking these two examples of terror in account, can we say then that it is OK to restrict a convicted, sentence served child molester but it’s not OK to restrict a convicted, sentence served child molester and murder?

Time to change the game.

Please, make it stop!

Please, make it stop!

Those words, from a friend's posting, started me thinking...and that's when the trouble usually starts!

A manhole is called a manhole because once upon a time it was a man who typically used it, not because men want to keep women down, (by naming a hole in the ground after themselves)!
“Christmas”, is a celebration of Christ.
“Xmas”, is a commercial invention to save the high cost of letters in advertisements!
So when someone says, “Keep Christ in Christmas”, he, (or she) its not an attempt to bring someone down …it’s just a desire to remember that Christmas was not the commercial venture it has turned into.

A Christmas tree is to Christmas as a Menorah is to Hanukah.
Although Halifax presented Boston city with a gift of a Christmas tree, Boston has disallowed its residents from calling it a Christmas tree. It’s now a holiday tree. Everyone is pissed, bylaws are popping up forcing one thing or another, and no one is happy…well, they’ve certainly taken the spirit of Christmas from the Christmas tree, haven’t they?

To be politically correct, trying to appease everyone, the correctness Gestapo would have me say what…”Seasons greetings”? Totally removing my own spirituality to avoid a possible misconception of what, or who? Wait a moment, what about Jehovah’s Witness? There isn’t a “‘seasonal” celebration this time of year for the Witnesses; maybe I just offended them now!

Please, make it stop! We have far too much to be concerned about to be fighting over to call it a Christmas tree, or a holiday tree, it’s still an F*%# tree!

Happy CHRISTMAS, and whatever best wish greeting you'd like!

OH, I feel so much better!

And so, on the great night of fools, Justice Gomery, (how much is his salary?) has exonerated our Prime Minister! I knew it all along; there was no way that the then FEDERAL FINANCE MINISTER and current Prime Minister would be mixed up in something like that! We have the culprits, we know who did what; Canadians can relax, put these silly allegations behind us and PM Martin can get back to guiding Canada on the righteous path!
OH, I feel so much better - and now, back to being a comforatable sheep!

What say you now?!

It's no secret that I like to stir things up to encourage discussion; I've been called narrow-minded and opinionated and a few other more colorful names, but I like to think that I at least open the floor for a debate.
To that end, I post this today, lets debate.
Discrimination, in any form is unacceptable, whether it's perpetuated via ignorance, or with a desire to take advantage of a situation.
The CBC news article linked below relates to a desire for tax relief based on a discrimination argument.
Take a moment to read the article...
http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/10/17/buddhist-tax-challenge051017.html
OK, now lets fix the discriminiation argument, lets remove all tax breaks for medical treatments...there will be no discrimination then!
What say you now?!

It's your fault!

Let me start today with a couple of quotes...

From author Terry GoodKind ...

"We are free not to choose reason, but we are not free from the consequences..."

From a colleague...

"So what do you think about the BC Supreme Court allowing a law suit to proceed in which the BC government will sue tobacco producers for the health care costs incurred for caring for smoking-related illnesses over the past 50 years? Good thing no one is personally responsible for their own well-being – it’s someone else’s fault that they picked up the bad habit! I might be persuaded see that some of the older cases (i.e. 50 years ago), when people were unaware of the ill effects but the tobacco companies knew. But for the past 10 years they’ve put huge warnings on their packs – with disgusting photos as well! Of course they were forced to do it, but now that the warnings are there you can’t say people are unaware of the consequences of picking up that first cigarette.Pretty soon the alcohol producers will be responsible for liver disease and need to pay for those health care related expenses. So when will the government have to pay up to cover the rehab costs for chronic gamblers?"

My own comments...

After a discussion with a similarly minded friend, I will concede the point of extra efforts in spiking cigarettes to increase addiction, wild and flashy advertising campaigns etc., however, I still have to make a conscious decision to smoke, or not. We all know the consequences of smoking, especially considering the warnings and pictures on every pack. Ultimately, I make the decision, and any fall out from that point on is the direct result of that decision and is therefore my own responsibility to bear.
To follow the logic of suing Imperial Tobacco, can we also say that if I push you off the roof top, I am not accountable; you are, for being there!

Let’s stir things up

KILLER KARLA is back in the news forefront again, and of course I am listening. She was seen here, or she was dressed like that. The media question if we think we should be following her, or are we harassing her rights by tracking what she does, where she goes and all that. Many people apparently believing that we should now leave her alone as she has served her time, paid her debt or at least served her sentence.Done is done and it's time for us to move on. At least that's the arguments presented to me. I'm told she has paid her debt and that if I still harbor ill will, I shouldn't blame her, but that I should direct my ire to the people who made the "deal" with her. Good point and I do.However the fact remains, KILLER KARLA heartlessly kidnapped, brutally raped, tortured and coldly murdered at least three girls, of which her own sister was one!Has she really paid her debt? I don't think so, but who am I? I will add a little something to the debate, KILLER KARLA has not been charged with drugging, raping, and ultimately killing her own sister! What the hell? She has even admitted to this!Right or wrong, I believe that she shouldn't get the benefits of anonymity, she should be charged with destroying her own sister and ultimately back in jail, (actually I think would support a death sentence here, or how about a public switching!).To answer the media's question, NO, I do not agree, we should not leave her alone, hound this heartless killer!(What comments will I hear tomorrow!?)
adendum - I don't agree with what I just saw on the CH news program where they are hounding KILLER KARLA's old man, it's not the family, it is with her the problem exists.
