Is it "dieing" or "dying"

A recent conversation with a friend posed the question, is it "dieing" or "dying"?
I am, (amongst other things) an "anglophone", but I hardly consider myself to be well versed in English language; the aforementioned conversation was with a "francophone" friend so neither of us would commit to an acceptable spelling for "dieing/dying" - for all the wordsmiths out there, please help clarify the correct usage for "dieing/dying", as in "in the process of death".
Have a good one!

If you mean something like "expiring", it's "Dying".

If you mean something like "changing the colour of cloth", it's "Dyeing".

I just assumed your car was expiring, not changing colour.

well, an infection of the "rusties" is helping the coloring change, but no, it is/was expiring - thanks for your comments.
